If not, we can help!

If your website is more than five years old, chances are you have seen a dropoff in traffic (and possibly ranking) over the past couple of months. Believe it or not, it’s not all in your head— last fall, Google released an update that penalizes sites that don’t look good on mobile, since more and more traffic is coming from mobile devices.

What does this mean for you?

Most of the people we help with this issue also tell us that they are unable to update their websites without the help of a designer or developer, which is something that just does not need to happen anymore. Technology has advanced so much, you can (and absolutely should ) be in full control of your website.

We have a solution for this problem! Get Creative, Inc. has been offering WordPress conversion for the past two years with great results.

What’s a conversion?
That’s when we take your existing site (which is built with html or something else) and switch the whole thing over to WordPress (.org). This will allow you to easily (so easily!) go in and make updates and changes, which will keep your website “fresh” in Google’s eyes.
Once your site is converted, it will be:

 mobile-friendly (people can easily call you/ your business with one tap from their phones!)

 easy (so easy) to update. You can stop paying expensive developer/ designer fees

 Less expensive (sometimes MUCH less). Once we switch you onto your own hosting account (approximately $8/ month) and set your website up so you (or someone in your office, like your receptionist) can update it, you will start to really see the cost savings. Most of our WordPress conversion customers start saving about 50% of their costs once the conversion is complete.

 Search Engine friendly (meaning it will rank better for your chosen keywords). The truth is, Google really IS looking for great content, but if your site is in an older format (like html or even Flash), it is definitely not finding what you have to offer. We include SEO setup with every conversion, so going forward your site will be much easier for Google to find. More search traffic for you = more business = more money in the bank!

Conversion: Frequently Asked Questions

1. How much is it?

Usually we can convert a whole website for about $1,000. We have found, across the board, that this investment quickly pays for itself in savings (hosting and development costs), increased search engine rankings, and increased business. You would actually be really surprised how much money you are losing every month just from having an old website that you can’t update yourself! We want to put the power back into your hands.

2. How does it work? How long does it take?

It’s pretty simple, actually. You contact us, we take a look at your site, and we work with you to make a plan. We have you set up hosting (because from now on, everything is owned by you!), then we get started.

3. What about the existing design of the site? Do you change that?

We actually don’t change one bit of the design. We simply convert what you have into something you can manage and update yourself, and usually save you money on hosting in the process.

4. What if I don’t like my existing design?
Not a problem. We have a designer who can give you some updated looks for your site, but we are not trying to pressure you one bit to change anything. Many of our customers leave with exactly the same design they had before, and we are totally fine with this. We are NEVER going to pressure you to redesign.

5. Will I really be able to make updates myself? I am super non tech savvy.
This is something we hear almost every day, and once we have you log in to the back-end of your site the first time, people always say “Wow! This is so much easier than I thought it would be!”

6. Why Do You Offer This Service?

Truthfully, over the years we have heard many, MANY sad stories of people who are just completely stuck with their websites. Either the site they paid $5,000 for is made of Flash, or their designer is withholding their login information so they are not update the site themselves (this one makes us very angry), or they are just discouraged because they felt like they paid all this money, and are still not ranking anywhere, and don’t know what to do next.

Believe it or not, we don’t WANT to be your permanent web updaters—we have moved on to a more empowering internet where we give you the power back by giving you the keys to the back-end. Once you can get in there and make changes, you are going to feel great about your site and your business will expand from there.

7. Are you saying you don’t WANT my repeat business?

Not at all! We will be here for you if you want to change something major or add a totally new piece of functionality. We’re just saying we think it’s wrong for you to have to pay someone by the hour to update a word like “the” on your website. That has got to stop, and we are taking the internet back one website at a time.

8. What information do I have to give you?

Any login info you have for anything would be awesome and would speed up the process, but if you don’t have anything, that is not a problem. We will be setting you up with new information (hosting, website login, etc), and we strongly encourage you to change all of your passwords when the conversion is done. BELIEVE US when we say that we don’t want continuous access to your website. We want you to do things yourself!!
